There’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all story. To tell your tale with the most impact, you need to know your audience. Our How Money Walks data – and our innovative, interactive 55-inch touchscreen – was certain to make a splash at the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

But we wanted to stand out. We wanted to leave a lasting impression on the thousands of politically active attendees who walked by our booth.

So we made our message one of personal empowerment: “Transform Your State.” We developed collateral materials and branded items that reflected fast-action feel of the Transformers movies.

Most important of all, we invited two very special guests: Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.

The Transformers greeted people at our booth and strolled through Media Row. The giant robots’ presence piqued attendees’ interest – and resulted in lively crowds at our booth, plus hundreds of interactions with our How Money Walks data and applications.

Because we got creative with our messaging, the story of income migration reached new audiences. And we weren’t the only ones telling the story: Our booth and Travis H. Brown’s book were featured everywhere from New York Magazine to The Guardian to ABC News.

Know your audience. Tailor the message. Then watch your story go worldwide.
