A truly special event gets the whole town talking. Each year, Rex and Jeanne Sinquefield host an elegant Christmas celebration, coordinated by Coda Fundraising & Events. Nearly 400 guests – everyone from members of the United States Congress to baseball hall-of-famers – gather at the historic Chase Park Plaza for an evening of conversation, music, and good cheer.

This is far more than just a party, though. It’s an opportunity to help children in need . . . and a chance to change stories of difficulty to stories of hope.

The Sinquefields’ personal narrative is one of success, and also of great gratitude. Both Rex and Jeanne are noted philanthropists (Rex made St. Louis the chess capital of the world, while Jeanne’s dedication to original music composition brings international acclaim to young Missouri musicians). The annual Christmas celebration reflects the Sinquefields’ commitment to the St. Louis community, as all funds raised go to the Sharing Fund, which supports local not-for-profits. For the past several years, proceeds have benefitted St. Vincent Home for Children (where Rex spent much of his childhood) and Covenant House Missouri.

In the past three years alone, this festive event has raised nearly $200,000 for youth in need. The money funds vital programs and helps children with very few advantages find new reasons to dream big.

What better story to tell during the Christmas season?
