LobbyTweets get its data from the Missouri Ethics Commission's (MEC) reports. By law registered lobbyists disclose information about who their principals (usually thought to be clients or employers) are to the MEC.

LobbyTweets sweeps changes daily from the MEC. Each day that changes occur, we tweet about them once on that particular 24 hour period. If more than one lobbyists adds or deletes principal(s), we choose one at random for our tweet summary title. The full listing of activities for the day are then found on the Pelopidas Lobbyist Tweet page here.

This process is fully automated and is driven by our unique proprietary data systems.
